Our Mission:

The Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance aims to provide support to Canadians with congenital heart defects (CHD) by:
  • Raising the profile of CHD in Canada
  • Helping patients find a congenital heart facility/expert in their area
  • Offering peer support and counselling
  • Helping patients make the transition from the pediatric to adult system
  • Providing educational information and resources on CHD
  • Working with other CHD organizations to increase the awareness and understanding of CHD

This interaction is designed to supplement the efforts already being made by the 15 regional facilities in Canada and the five regional centers of excellence. The aim is to have a "non-medical / non-clinical" interaction.

In time, there will be regional chapters of the CCHA to act as local advocacy groups. This will involve fundraising and liaising with the medical professionals and hospital officials to rally for the interests of congenital cardiac care.
