CCHA - for life!

The CCHA logo depicts a child handing a torch to an adult. The flame of the torch is an upside-down heart.

This is designed to symbolize the transition from pediatric care into adult care. The idea for the logo comes from a quote by noted ACHD Cardiologist Dr. Gary Webb. In a 2004 address titled "Improving the Care Of Canadian Adults with Congenital Heart Disease" Dr. Webb said "the promises offered to [CHD patients] as children must also be honoured in their adult years."

Our tag line is "CCHA- for life!" which has a double meaning.

- It is designed to remind everyone that CHD is a life-long condition. Although some of us have had procedures to "repair" our hearts, we are not "fixed". Indeed, over half of the CHD population requires regular follow-up with highly trained specialists.

- It reflects the aim of the CCHA, which is to help patients with CHD live long, rich and healthy lives.
